CARES® Dementia Specialist™ (C.D.S.)
100-Point Credentialing Exam

This exam has 100 questions. Here are a few important things for you to know:
  • You have up to 3 hours to complete the exam. However, most people complete the exam in approximately 1 hour.
  • Take your time and work slowly.
  • You may use any notes or worksheets you completed during the exam.
  • Please complete the exam without stopping. (If you close your browser, you will need to start the exam again from the beginning.)
  • The exam questions are in a random order. But, to help you know which course the question is referring to, the course title is in parentheses at the beginning of each question.
  • You must pass the exam with a score of 90% correct or higher.
  • You may retake the exam as many times as you need.
  • Browsers: We support up-to-date versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, or Microsoft Edge. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer as it is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Locate your code on your "Admin Account" page at hcinteractive.com/myaccount. If you work for an organization, ask your administrator for the code. If you have not purchased a C.D.S. exam voucher code, purchase one at hcinteractive.com/CDSVoucher.

Important: If you are retaking the exam, enter your first name and last name exactly as you did the first time you took the exam. If you do not, you will get a voucher-code error message.
Program Completion Codes:
Please fill in the appropriate completion code for each CARES® course below. Completion codes are listed at the bottom each CARES completion certificate. Then, click on the "Log in" button to launch your exam.
Where are my CARES® completion codes?

Individuals: Log in to hcinteractive.com/myaccount, locate each course, and click on the View Reports link. Scroll down and click on the green Print Certificate button. Your CARES® completion code appears below your certificate on page 2 or on the last page. The completion code you are looking for will look like this: 9999-999-999-01.

Employees: Log into each program you have completed with your Product Key as an "existing user." On the next screen, click the Print Certificate button. Your CARES® completion code appears below your certificate on page 2 or on the last page. The completion code you are looking for will look like this: 9999-999-999-01.

Please make sure to enter all numbers and dashes with no spaces.
